No accountability, no price to pay
Earlier this week I wrote about the on-going feud between the White House and the Associated Press. I tried to explain how there was way more to the story than the left wing legacy media shared.
Today, though my concern about the media is much greater. For all of their talk about the spread of “misinformation” the lack of accountability within their own ranks continues to grow.
On Sunday, CBS’ Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan used a premeditated attack line on Secretary of State Marco Rubio to claim the Holocaust was a result of a free speech issues in Germany. Seriously. Not a joke folks.
I say premeditated because that’s exactly what it was. Every week she clearly plots a line of attack against her Republican guest. Paddy cake with the Democrat guest “how are you, why is Donald Trump so bad and evil, thanks for coming on?” and full on spider money attack to the Republican guest.
While Rubio put on a masterclass of a response, Brennan’s false claims on the Holocaust hung out there with no clean up — no apology. No nothing. In fact she ended by saying we are out time, see you next week. No follow up tweet or statement to clean up her “misinformation.”
As someone who has made some VERY public mistakes and misstaments two things stood out.
First, my mistakes were just that, screws up — this, however, was a preplanned attack. She did not make this up on the fly.
Second, all of the folks that called me out for a mistake - Democrats, the media, and faux outrage leftist groups like the Anti Defamation League and Southern Poverty Law Center were SILENT. They said nothing, nada, zero. In my case, the rebuke was swift and loud - from many sides. I could not escape the follow up - she has faced practically nothing.
Not one of her colleagues, no one at CBS had a thing to say.
But it got worse as the week went on.
It was almost like CBS was intentionally trying to tank itself.
Let me explain.
